Telecaster Drooling June 30, 2012 | 09:29 pm

This is one of the most beautiful guitars I’ve ever seen. It has the maple neck with no skunk stripe that I now think is essential. It doesn’t have the toploading bridge, but it looks awesome. Man, I’m drooling over this one.

Olympic white hard tail stratocaster.  I would like this with a custom two piece next which doesn’t have the skunk stripe down the back.   This would be an all white dream.  Maybe put a charlie christian pickup in the middle position, a soapbar in the next, and then change the dials to have three volume and one tone knob with no pickup selector (totally custom pan in and volume control).

Sound like a good use of the guitar daydream? I thought so.

Giants and Other Team Stuff June 30, 2012 | 12:46 pm

Of  course, when your team wins the world series you have to blog it. And try and do something special.  But it’s hard to buy plastic stadium cups on ebay (my preferred souvineer) so I had to look for something else.  I got a great t-shirt that I sometimes can’t find anymore too. Man that’s a great shirt, wherever it it!  So when I went to go put the logo on my page, I couldn’t find one that really fit.  The old school “Humm Baby” Giants looked too goofy for me, but the new overstyled and quasi-retro ones didn’t work either.

Having my computer up, I made this and a few logos.  Well there you go.

And while I was at it, I made one for the Niners:

and this one for the Cougs:

A guy has to have all of his teams covered, even if it is using the free College font and an old photoshop knockoff program.

Team Poppy June 30, 2012 | 04:52 am

Team Poppy is a great t-shirt I got for father’s day a few years ago. My oldest has called me Poppy on and off for a while. It is very sweet   and you never know how long that kind of thing is going to last. So I made a logo for it.

You really can’t go wrong with an old Jasper Johns google image snatch to test out how an image looks in a post. This is is encaustic over newsprint in a very intersting work of art now cut and pasted digitally adds to the irony/etc. You really can’t go wrong with an old Jasper Johns google image snatch to test out how an image looks in a post. Now we’re cookin… June 30, 2012 | 04:43 am

The rush of getting my url back was replaced with the crushing tedium of html code editing. So I ran across this theme which I really like.  I would gush about the author, but it is some fairly unknown Russian link and I can’t find any support or understanding. I think the look is lo-fi and clean and a great fit for my sporadic nonesense.

I figured out how to monkey around in editor enough to turn off a little avatar/author link button. Now it’s good.

You came! June 27, 2012 | 12:50 pm

Okay, so you probably didn’t come and I’m likely typing out in the wilderness.  If you’re here, you’re likely a friend or family member (or paid link wrangler pumping up my stats!) checking out what crazy junk I’m into. Of course, I still talk and type like it’s the 90’s, which you don’t think of as another era, but it certainly is.  The “crazy junk I’m into” in 90’s lingo means that I’m using my Netscape to login to my aol account.  “Crazy junk” refers to junk or stuff generally that may or may not actually be crazy.

Updating this to today, you can see the problem.  Crazy junk means that your junk (which we all know what this now means, right?) is kind of crazy, and everyone will be wondering if it’s in a box, if you have a disease, or what have you.

See, there it is again.  That stilted early proto-journalistic style of early blog posts comes out. Like my habit in college of trying to call everyone by their last name.  Very “post Cosby show era” and all.  Now, it kind of seems lame.  Or it may just be lame.  At any rate…

I will try and flesh out the history a bit in the about page.

There is a little picture bubble next to each post that I can’t figure out how to get rid of yet, but I’m smitten with the overall design of this great template so I’m not inclined to change it. I don’t know how to add a picture or create a page with the custom url needed, so don’t click on it yet.

I own this! June 26, 2012 | 11:26 pm

After many years, spovegas.com finally has fallen into my hands once again!
